Shadow Sanctuary

An aging house on two acres, rebuilt as a place to live, learn, and connect.

The solarium at Shadow Sanctuary with sliding glass walls opening onto the wooded grounds.

Shadow Sanctuary started as an aging residential property with a dated layout and outdated systems. The site had real potential — two wooded acres on a secluded street twenty minutes from downtown Houston, with good structural bones and an exterior worth keeping. We left the exterior intact, took the interior to the studs, and rebuilt the layout, structural systems, and finish from there.

Inside, a central core organizes the house around gathering: open dining and living areas, two kitchens, and a solarium with sliding glass walls that opens onto the grounds. Outside, we rebuilt the lot around quiet, water, and growing things — a long pool for training and entertaining, a hot tub, a Nordic sauna, cold plunge, organic vegetable garden, fruit trees, and room to host. The property is now a private residence and a venue for wellness retreats, branded photo and video shoots, and private gatherings.
